Sustainability
Sustainability and the environment are key drivers in my designs. I am skilled in alterations and repairs. I try to use reclaimed and deadstock fabric where possible, always trying to find a new use for waste fabric and thread. My passion for sustainability has led me to create a student handbook on the subject, for my dissertation.
Deconstruct Reconstruct
This bodice is made completely from unwanted, damaged or discarded denim jeans which were carefully dismantled to reduce wastage.

Scrap Art
You will often see thread waste within my tiny pieces of art. The Bumblebee was created using scrap materials from previous projects. The body has been created using discarded thread.
Scrap Fabric Brooches
Off-cuts of fabric from previous projects are used to create wearable art pieces, often one-off designs, in this case to make floral brooches

Reclaimed Textiles
I seek to use reclaimed or donated fabric where possible. Deadstock fabrics and swatches are a frequently used resource.
